Anyone who wants to spend Christmas 2026 in the Black Forest can combine the festive days at Lake Schluchsee with wellness, winter landscape and outings into the High Black Forest. One of the best-known Christmas markets in the region is the market in the Ravennaschlucht, which in 2026 runs from 26 November to 20 December.

A published Christmas package from Hotel Auerhahn with a fixed programme is not currently on the website. What is fixed are the place, the wellness area and the seasonal kitchen. Whether there is snow on Christmas Eve is not something this article claims.

The Auerhahn stands in Schluchsee-Aha, Vorderaha 4, and is Adults Only, including over the holidays. The days are short. An outing can be part of it; it does not have to be the reason for the trip.

Three things can be settled before you enquire: which nights, from 24 December through the holidays or the days after; how much time in the spa; and that in the evening the seasonal menu applies, not an invented festive menu. 31 December is a separate New Year offer and not automatically the same stay as the nights before.

The Christmas market in the Ravennaschlucht takes place from 26 November to 20 December 2026, Thursday to Sunday. Advance sales start on 14 October 2026 at 10 am. Tickets are available online, not at a box office on the day.

Opening hours according to Hochschwarzwald Tourismus: Thursdays 4 pm to 9 pm, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays 2 pm to 9 pm. The exception is Wäldertag on Thursday, 10 December 2026. From Schluchsee the gorge is an outing, not a programme in the house. Whether tickets are still free on your date is only with the organiser.

The wellness area is in the house and does not depend on whether there is snow outside. Indoors there is an indoor pool with a counter-current system, a brine pool, rest rooms and the saunas: Finnish sauna around 90°, bio sauna around 60°, two steam baths.

During the day there is the Day Spa for €65 per person, 9 am to 6 pm, subject to availability. On Christmas Eve and the holidays the opening may differ. That belongs in the enquiry, not in an assumption. On Tuesdays and Thursdays through the year the Night Spa runs from 6 pm to 10 pm for €32. Whether these evenings apply as usual in Christmas week is confirmed with the reservation.

Restaurant Auerhahn cooks with the season: a new menu each day, plus a vegetarian sequence, starting in the evening at 6.30 pm. The menu price named on the wellness page is €126. Whether a different menu or a different price applies on the festive days is something you learn when you enquire. A separate Christmas sheet is not listed here.

External guests need a reservation. Brasserie Barbara is open through the year from 12.00 noon to 8.30 pm, closed Monday and Tuesday, open on public holidays.
