We have chosen to change the bed linen in your room once a week. The same applies to your towels. Should anything become soiled, we will change it sooner. This way, we support the environment with smaller deliveries and fewer washes by our laundry partner. If you prefer more frequent linen changes, you are of course welcome to request this.

Refrigerants? Not for us. We cool our systems and the large cold stores with a CO₂ cooling unit. That makes us one of the first businesses to have fully converted. Without toxic refrigerants. And heating? We generate heat right next door. In our energy centre we burn wood pellets and woodchips from the region. This solution is both regionally sustainable and carbon-neutral. And electricity? We chose the most sustainable source there is: the sun. The Black Forest is not exactly known for abundant sunshine. But when the sun shines, it shines properly, and the solar panels on our roof catch every ray. And paper? All internal processes are paperless. Invoices reach us exclusively in digital form. Handovers and task assignments are communicated via an app. Duty rosters, holiday requests and sick notes are uploaded in a tool. We also prefer to keep your registration form and invoice digital – if you want to take a printed invoice with you, that is of course possible.

Toothbrushes, combs, shower caps, razors & sewing kits? We have everything at reception for you, but you will not find them in the rooms. Disposable slippers? You will not find those in your room either. We kindly ask you to bring your own pool shoes from home for the wellness area. If you forget them, of course we have a pair for you at reception. We have also decided not to use down bedding in the house. All our pillows and duvets are made from 100% recycled polyester in a 100% cotton cover.

We have several charging stations for your electric car. Register your car in advance and charge overnight. For your bicycles we have a locked area inside the hotel. Safe and protected from the rain, your bike is well looked after here.

At our breakfast buffet you will find almost no individually packaged items – most products come in bulk. This way we minimise packaging waste. Wherever possible we source from regional suppliers who do not wrap everything in plastic in the first place.

Leftovers from the breakfast buffet are turned into new dishes – smoothies, muffins and dog biscuits. Precise calculation of dishes means we produce no unnecessary waste. Trimmings are processed further, just like leftovers.

The Black Forest has much to offer. The people here live with and for nature. That is why we source first-class products from our immediate surroundings. Vegetables, cheese, fish… Even your laundry does not travel far. We work with a regional laundry service. It is based right in Bonndorf. Only a few minutes away by car.
